Film fest comes to dazzling close
John Jeffcoat, whose "Outsourced" wowed the opening-night audience, received the John Schlesinger Award for Outstanding First Feature. "It's beyond anything I would have expected. I was excited to be given the slot for opening night. Getting the John Schlesinger Award is amazing," Jeffcoat said. After the [Awards] luncheon, Macdonald called it a watershed year for the festival. "It started on that hugely high note with 'Outsourced' and just built from there. You could feel that sense of celebration," he said.
